What this artifact is for

The AI Use Case Discovery Canvas is AD 101's final artifact: a real work problem written up as a structured Use Case, the starting point for AD 102's deeper interview and AD 103's prioritization.

Info

Human, AI, Human: a person defines the problem and judgment, AI may help organize the writing, and a person verifies and owns the conclusion.

A structurally complete Canvas

  • A clear problem statement with no tool name
  • Explicit user and owner (named separately if different)
  • A measurable desired outcome
  • An AI pattern that fits the problem
  • Data needs with source and sensitivity noted
  • An explicit human-review arrangement
  • A concrete, actionable next question

Info

Feedback from the platform is a learning aid, not a professional credential, and never replaces human review.

What you need to complete

  • Complete the six lessons across AD 101 Module 1 and Module 2
  • Score at least 80% on the post-test
  • To also earn the Use Case Discovery Capability Certificate, submit the AI Use Case Discovery Canvas and have a Credential Admin review it against the rubric and pass it

How you are assessed

The AI Use Case Discovery Canvas is scored by a Credential Admin across seven domains: Problem Statement Clarity, User & Owner Clarity, Measurable Desired Outcome, AI Pattern Fit, Data Sourcing & Sensitivity Awareness, Human Review Arrangement, and Next Question Specificity. A score of 17 or more out of 21, with no critical-fail rule triggered, is a PASS; 14 or below, or any triggered critical-fail rule, is a FAIL; 14-16 is Revision Required.

Info

This scoring logic is published so you know what is being assessed -- it is not the same as a quiz answer key.

Evidence produced

  • A recorded rubric result (PASS, Revision Required, or FAIL) with no critical-fail rule triggered
  • A PASS separately records capability evidence for each of the six fine-grained AD 101 competencies: Problem Framing, AI Use Case Pattern Matching, User/Owner Roles, Measurable Desired Outcome, Data Needs & Authorization Awareness, and Risk & Human Review Framing

What you can earn

AD 101 Course Completion Certificate: earned by completing both modules and meeting the post-test threshold, no Canvas required. Use Case Discovery Capability Certificate: requires submitting the AI Use Case Discovery Canvas and passing rubric review. The two are independent -- you can hold either without the other.

What this credential does not mean

This credential confirms the holder completed AD 101's required learning and post-test, or (for the certificate) demonstrated problem-framing and Use Case judgment against the Canvas rubric.

  • It does not represent a formal job qualification or professional certification
  • It does not mean any specific AI use case the holder later proposes is necessarily feasible or safe
  • It does not remove the need for human review before high-risk decisions (Human, AI, Human)
