The instructor role

Instructors teach, facilitate practice and assessment, and use aggregate results after class. The platform gives instructors the Teacher app and Presenter View.

Info

This manual is public operating guidance. Speaker notes, reference answers and learner data appear only in the Teacher app after an authorized sign-in, never on public pages.

Before teaching

  • Check that an admin has created your course session and you have its session code
  • Check that your account is assigned as instructor or teaching assistant for that session
  • Preview the modules you will teach in Presenter View

Access and sign-in

The Teacher app requires signing in with an account that holds an instructor role. If you are not signed in, a "Sign-in required" page offers "Go to sign in" and brings you back afterwards; if you are signed in without the role you see "Not authorized" with a "Back to home" button. Both pages keep the normal site header and footer.

Once in, the sidebar has eight pages: Overview, Presenter Materials, Materials Download Center, Teaching Guides, My Courses, Policy Changes, Results and Industry Lab Reviews (Industry Lab courses have no pre- or post-test, so this page summarizes the review queue and outcomes of each course). Speaker notes, teacher downloads and Teaching Guides are for instructors and course managers; teaching assistants can open the Teacher app but do not see them.

Select course and session

On the Results page of the Teacher app, enter a session code to load that session. You can only view sessions you are assigned to.

Learner entry

Give learners the session code and remind them to choose a learner code that is not their real name and to use it throughout the course. Only an open session accepts learner submissions.

Presenter View

The Teacher app lists a Presenter View link for every module, grouped by course; search or expand a course card to find a module. Each module’s Presenter View also has "Download teacher PPTX" / "Download teacher PDF" buttons that export the teacher edition, including speaker notes, in one click for offline use or backup. Presenter View itself opens full screen without the site header.

Teacher materials and Teaching Guides

The Materials Download Center lists every course and module with its teacher-edition PPTX and PDF in each language, plus a combined teacher deck for the whole course; anything not yet published shows "Not yet published". These files are served only to signed-in instructors and course managers, and each download is recorded in the audit log. Because they include speaker notes, never share them with learners.

The Teaching Guides page links to a course-level Teaching Guide for every published course: course overview, session run-of-show, materials checklist, common pitfalls, credential summary and per-module teaching notes. A section without authored text shows a short notice instead. This covers both GoAI 101 editions.

My Courses and certificate policy requests

My Courses lets an eligible teacher register as the course manager of a course that has no registered teacher yet, for example when an admin has assigned you to a session of that course. The server decides eligibility; if you are not eligible you see a notice, and every registration is audited.

When a Credential Admin proposes changing how a course certificate is issued, a registered course manager of that course is asked to approve or reject it, either from Policy Changes (the Overview page shows how many are waiting) or from the single-use link in the notification email. Each decision asks for confirmation, and a request expires if nobody decides in time.

Facilitate practice

  • Have learners download or preview the practice files before explaining the goal
  • Encourage learners to review AI output rather than accept it as is
  • Remind learners not to paste company secrets or client personal data

Facilitate assessment

  • Have learners take the pre-test before the course and the post-test after it
  • Confirm the session is open before starting
  • Remind learners to use the same learner code for both tests

View aggregate results

The Teacher app shows the session’s pre/post averages, learning gain, competency summary and submission counts. Data is aggregated per session; individual answers are never shown.

Course feedback

In the last module of each course, Presenter View has a "Please leave course feedback" closing slide (address and QR code) after the final slide, and the downloadable instructor deck of the last module has it too. After class, the "Course feedback" page of the Teacher app shows the statistics of your sessions (nothing below 5 responses).

Review Use Cases and Canvases

Beyond aggregate Use Case data, some courses route a learner’s own submitted work (for example an analysis report or an applied exercise) to an instructor or credential administrator for hands-on scoring. A certificate is never earned just by submitting: only a passing review does that. Which courses have a review step, and what rubric it uses, varies by course; go by what you actually see in the review screen.

  1. Find submissions awaiting review
In the instructor review screen, filter by session or course to find learner submissions awaiting review.
  2. Score against the rubric
Score each rubric domain against that course’s defined scoring rubric, and flag any critical-fail issue.
  3. Confirm the review outcome
A submission only passes when it passes overall with no critical-fail issue. Depending on the course, a pass may then count toward the Course Completion Certificate requirement, or issue the matching Capability Certificate; either only happens after a passing review.

End of session

  1. Check submissions
Check post-test, Use Case and Exit Ticket counts in the Teacher app
  2. Ask an admin to close the session
A closed session accepts no more submissions, but its data stays viewable
  3. If data needs exporting
CSV exports are done by an admin
