Data stored in your browser

  • Learning progress (completed sections and activities)
  • Self-check practice records (only that you practiced, not whether you were right)
  • If you turned on progress sync: the session code and learner code you entered
  • Your language preference

Data sent to the server

  • Assessment answers and results
  • Use Case, Canvas and Exit Ticket content
  • Lesson completions, if you turned on sync

These are recorded under "session + learner code"; the platform does not ask for your name or email. Do not put your real name, company secrets or client personal data in your learner code or any form.

Accounts

Signing in is optional and only needed for some features (such as the Skills Passport and the Teacher and Admin apps). An account’s email is shown only to its owner. The name printed on certificates is a certificate name you can set yourself; it is copied onto a certificate when it is issued and appears on its public verification page.

If a course offers a Course Completion certificate or an Applied Skill certificate, the records needed to determine your eligibility (such as which lessons and practice were completed, whether an assessment was passed, and the outcome of a reviewed piece of work) are kept under your signed-in account rather than an anonymous session and learner code. These records are used only to determine and issue certification and never publicly show an assessment score or review detail.

Course feedback

Course feedback needs a sign-in. What is stored: your ratings and recommendation score, three optional comments, the course and session, and the link to your account (so you can view, edit and delete your own feedback). The feedback data itself holds no name or email.

  • Who can see it: you; instructors see statistics for their own sessions only (nothing below 5 responses); an organization's HR viewers see de-identified statistics and comments for their own organization only (no numbers or comments when the organization has fewer than 5 responses for the course); administrators see the original text while moderating, but never the author
  • Comments are masked automatically for emails, phone numbers, national ID numbers and links; comments with harassment, threat or secret-related wording need administrator review before they can be published; HR sees the masked text, only the month, and in an order that does not follow submission
  • You can edit or delete within 7 days of submitting; after that it is locked, still viewable, and you can request deletion
  • Original feedback (ratings, comments and the account link) is kept for at most 24 months and then deleted
  • The form also records anonymous aggregate counters (forms shown, started, submitted, blocked attempts) and how many seconds each response took, to judge whether the form is easy to fill in; these counters contain nothing that identifies a person
  • After you receive a course certificate and have not left feedback, the platform may send one reminder email, only to a verified address, with no scores or comment text

The QR code and link an instructor shows carry the session code. A session code is the public code an instructor hands to learners and holds no personal data.

Warning

Do not enter company secrets, client personal data, colleagues' names or other unauthorized sensitive information in feedback. Free text cannot be fully de-identified automatically, and very small organizations carry a risk of being recognized, so avoid details that point to a specific person.

Who can see it

Assigned instructors see a session’s aggregate results; admins can export a session’s submissions. A learner’s own Use Case, Canvas or Exit Ticket is never published to a public page. The separate public Industry Case Library only contains organization-sponsored industry projects, and a case appears there only after its sponsoring organization, a privacy reviewer and an academic reviewer have all approved it, not because of a learner’s own submission.

Anonymous usage counts

The platform records only anonymous counts of buttons and events (for example how many times a button was clicked per day), never learner codes, IP addresses, cookies or learning progress. These automatic counts are not recorded when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. When you answer "Was this article helpful?" at the end of a Help or documentation article, only a daily count per article, language and answer is kept; it is sent only when you click, contains no text and cannot be linked to you. No third-party analytics service is used by the platform itself; the hosting provider may add cookieless, aggregate web statistics at the network edge.

Admin exports

Only admins can export data, and exports involving sensitive data are logged. Teacher slide exports (which contain speaker notes) are available only to authorized instructors and are also logged. Export files identify learners by learner code.
