IL 301 | Enterprise AI Pilot & Adoption Lab
The Industry AI Co-creation Lab's flagship course: move a validated Proof of Value into a controlled real operational setting, run a pilot, and produce a measurable adoption recommendation. The 30 hours are formal guided learning time; the recommended project duration is 6-8 weeks.

IL 301 · Module 1: Executive Kickoff
Curriculum
- Module 1Executive KickoffConfirm the approved version being deployed, the RACI responsibility split, stop authority, and the formal pilot period.
- Module 2Process & User ImmersionDocument how the current workflow actually runs, work-difficulty variance, and the real reasons for reluctance to adopt AI.
- Module 3Technical & Data ReviewRe-verify effective permissions, data scope, and approval conditions rather than reusing IL 202's conclusions as-is.
- Module 4Solution SprintBuild a monitorable pilot version, and design error handling and a human handoff mechanism.
- Module 5Controlled PilotRun in observe/shadow mode first, then move to small-scale, human-confirmed use once stable.
- Module 6EvaluationCompare pilot results against baseline, and honestly disclose confounders such as workload, difficulty, and staffing changes.
- Module 7Human-AI Governance ReviewActually drill disable, recovery, and revocation, and confirm exception handling, to prove the governance mechanism is not just words on paper.
- Module 8Adoption RedesignComplete the handoff package, support model, and operating instructions, and honestly list residual risk.
- Module 9Executive BriefingDecide on the adoption scope, cost, and ongoing responsibility, completing the Adoption Gate review.

Why this course
IL 301 is the Industry AI Co-creation Lab's flagship course: it moves a validated Proof of Value into a controlled real operational setting, runs a pilot, and produces a measurable adoption recommendation.
Learning and project time planning
| Formal guided hours | 30 hours |
| Estimated independent/applied project time | Not yet determined |
| Suggested real-world project span | 6-8 weeks |
Pilot deliverables
- Pilot plan
- Baseline
- Architecture
- Data/governance controls
- User/workflow design
- Pilot log
- Evaluation report
- Failure analysis
- Human oversight design
- Cost/value estimate
- Sponsor assessment
- Adoption recommendation
- Executive presentation
IL 301 admission requirements
- IL 201 passed
- IL 202 is READY, or READY WITH CONDITIONS with an approved remediation plan (equivalent enterprise evidence may be approved)
"No Sponsor, No Project": the industry sponsor commits to joining the executive kickoff, validating scope, enabling access to data, confirming KPIs, and joining the Adoption Gate review and the final presentation (or delegating).
Formal guided time is 30 hours (executive kickoff 2h, workflow/user immersion 3h, technical/data review 3h, solution sprint 6h, controlled pilot 6h, evaluation 3h, human/governance review 2h, adoption redesign 2h, executive presentation 3h); the recommended project duration is 6-8 weeks.
Today, these admission requirements are confirmed only by the learner checking a box and supplying supporting evidence on the Pilot Log submission form -- the platform does not automatically check them against actual IL 201/IL 202 issued credential records. A teacher may verify independently if strict enforcement is needed (CR-098 §5.3, a known, flagged item for future strengthening).

Completing IL 301 moves the project to Gate 4 (the Adoption Gate): SCALE, LIMITED ADOPTION, ITERATE, HOLD, or STOP.
Certificate
Enterprise AI Pilot Certificate. Requires: the pilot is completed, the evaluation is completed, the governance review is completed, the final recommendation is completed, and the academic rubric is passed.
Roles
- Industry sponsor: joins the Adoption Gate review and confirms the adoption recommendation
- Enterprise architect and technical owner: leads the technical implementation and data/governance controls
- Cross-domain advisor: helps with business relevance and evidence quality
- AI/data advisor: architecture, reliability, and evaluation design
- Project team: 3-5 learners
Data and privacy requirements
Pilots use one of four data/environment levels (Level A synthetic data, Level B de-identified data, Level C controlled enterprise data, Level D enterprise sandbox/production-adjacent); not every project uses unrestricted production data. Treat all pilot deliverables as sensitive: store them only in managed locations and share them only with authorized people.
Related courses and next step
Requires IL 201 passed and IL 202 readiness approval; advanced AI/DS courses may be required depending on the project.
Depending on the Adoption Gate decision, carry the project into IL 302's enterprise transformation and scale, or apply for inclusion in the public case library.
