AD 102 Apply
Turn what you learned into your own Current-State Process Map + Pain Point Map
What this artifact is for
The Current-State Process Map + Pain Point Map is AD 102's final artifact: a structured interview that digs deeper into the AD 101 Use Case to find the real process, decisions, and pain points, feeding into AD 103's prioritization.
Info
A structurally complete Process Map + Pain Point Map
- Scope is clearly defined (start/end/in-scope/out-of-scope)
- Steps are ordered with actor/system/input/output labeled
- Handoffs and decision points are clearly marked
- Pain points are classified into the seven types
- Numbers are labeled observed or estimated
- Root causes are clearly marked as hypotheses, not conclusions
- Unknowns are honestly listed, not glossed over

What you need to complete
- Complete both AD 102 modules
- Score at least 80% on the course post-test
- To earn the Process Discovery Capability Certificate, also submit a Current-State Process Map + Pain Point Map and have it reviewed by a Credential Admin against the rubric
How you are assessed
A Credential Admin scores the Current-State Process Map + Pain Point Map across seven weighted domains: Bounded Scope, Process Step Structure, Handoffs & Decision Points, Pain Point Classification, Evidence Labeling, Root Cause as Hypothesis, and Honest Unknowns. Out of 21 points, 17 or more with no critical-fail rule triggered is a PASS; 14 or fewer, or any triggered critical-fail rule, is a FAIL.
Info
What counts as evidence
- A recorded rubric result (PASS, REVISION_REQUIRED, or FAIL) with no critical-fail rule triggered
- A PASS leaves individual capability evidence for all eight AD 102 fine-grained competencies (Neutral, Evidence-Probing Interview Questions; Bounded Current-State Process Mapping; Handoff Identification; Decision Point Documentation; Pain Point Taxonomy; Root Cause as Hypothesis; Observed vs. Estimated Baseline; Evidence Confidence Assessment)
What you can earn
AD 102 Course Completion Certificate: complete both modules and reach the post-test threshold -- no Process Map + Pain Point Map required. Process Discovery Capability Certificate: also requires a submitted Process Map + Pain Point Map that passes rubric review. The two are earned independently of each other.
What this does not mean
This credential confirms the holder completed AD 102's required coursework and post-test, or (for the capability certificate) demonstrated interviewing, process mapping, pain-point classification, root-cause hypothesis, and evidence-judgment skills on the Current-State Process Map + Pain Point Map.
- Does not represent a formal process-improvement or consulting professional certification or hiring qualification
- Does not mean any specific process map the holder draws afterward is necessarily correct or complete
- Does not mean human review before further action can be skipped (Human, AI, Human)
